Orlando M. Martinez
On January 14, 2025, Mr. Martinez was appointed to the Sunnyslope County Water District Board, following an open interview process, to fill a vacancy created when Director Parker finished his term in December, 2024.
With more than 20 years of experience in mechanical and systems engineering, he brings extensive expertise in infrastructure, precision manufacturing, biotech cleanroom design, fiber optic systems, and automated process controls—skills that support the District’s strategic planning and water resource initiatives.
A longtime resident of San Benito County, Orlando and his wife, Maira, are deeply involved in both business and civic efforts throughout San Benito, Santa Clara, and Monterey counties. Together, they support a variety of community initiatives and nonprofit organizations. Their son is the proud owner of the Overflow Tap House and Grill in Gilroy, where the family remains actively engaged.
Orlando also serves as a member of the San Benito Business Council and works closely with the San Benito County Chamber of Commerce. He maintains strong relationships with local government leaders to help advance sustainable growth, water equity, and long-range infrastructure planning. He is honored to apply his engineering background and forward-thinking approach in service to the District and its mission.
