Sunnyslope and San Benito County Water District are working with Corrpro to install active impressed current cathodic protection to the Greensand and GAC filter vessels at Lessalt.

Previously the vessels experienced accelerated corrosion due to dissimilar metals. Sacrificial anodes were installed in 2019, but due to the highly corrosive dissimilar metals of stainless steel and carbon steel in the tanks, those anodes were consumed at a high rate. The impressed current cathodic protection serves as a long term solution that effectively protects this critical infrastructure.
