This usually is NOT a health risk and the water is still safe to drink.
Our water source sometimes has small amounts of harmless dissolved iron and manganese. Although they are not dangerous to people, it can leave a yellow or brown tint in the water after it is treated. It is usually most visible in white bathtubs, sinks or toilets.
It could also be from sediment in the pipes that gets mixed up when lots of water is being used. High flow occurs during firefighting activities, flushing, or main breaks.
To fix this, try running your water faucet for several minutes to flush your water pipes. Generally the water will usually clear up. If the problem persists, please call our office at (831) 637-4670.
